Great Quotes
The best moments in reading are when you come across something- a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things- that you'd thought special, particular to you. And here it is, set down by someone else, a person you've never met, maybe even someone long dead. And it's as if a hand has come out and taken yours.
-The History Boys
It doesn't seem right to let go of something you've had for so long, but it doesn't seem right, either, to hold on to something that's just not there anymore.
In your whole life, nobody has ever abused you more than you have abused yourself and the limit of your self abuse is exactly the limit of abuse that you will tolerate from someone else.

Love takes off masks that we fear we cannot live without and know we cannot live within.

LEAVES OF GRASS
Come, said my soul,
Such verses for my Body let us write, (for we are one,)
That should I after return,
Or, long, long hence, in other spheres,
There to some group of mates the chants resuming,
(Tallying Earth's soil, trees, winds, tumultuous waves,)
Ever with pleas'd smile I may keep on,
Ever and ever yet the verses owning--as, first, I here and now
Signing for Soul and Body, set to them my name, - Walt Whitman

There was something stolen. But how do you file a report when you don't know what it is/was? It's just a feeling, there is a piece missing. Where do you look and will you recognize it when you find it? All I know is, that it's in his possession and I want it back. Oh, and I chose that picture because I'm sure Dr. Crane would know what to do, he always has good advice.

speak of love that comes to mind:
The moon is faithful, although blind;
She moves in thought she cannot speak.
Perfect care has made her bleak.
I never dreamed the sea so deep,
The earth so dark; so long my sleep,
I have become another child.
I wake to see the world go wild.

Ramble and try to make sense
I always over analyze everything I do. At times I manipulate memories so they have the tinge of the tragic and beautiful. My heart falls for voices rather than faces. Currently I'm in love with Lou Reed, Syd Barret, David Gilmour, Caleb Followill, Sam Cooke, and Otis Redding. I'm sure there are more but my exhausted mind can't seem to remember. Often I get lulled to sleep by slow guitar riffs and soft whispers of "Candy Says" and "Pale Blue Eyes". Randomly, stanzas pop into my head but I never share them, ever. Truthfulness is a virtue that is rare, and it saddens me. My generation has such terrible taste in music and lack of creativity. Oh and someone should burn the vocoder and fringe scarves.
I adore this

This is a quote from Breakfast at Tiffany's. I really identified with Lula Mae at this point in the movie: "It's the mistake you always made, Doc, trying to love a wild thing. You were always lugging home wild things. Once it was a hawk with a broken wing... and another time it was a full-grown wildcat with a broken leg. Remember? You musn't give your heart to a wild thing. The more you do, the stronger they get, until they're strong enough to run into the woods or fly into a tree. And then to a higher tree and then to the sky."

It's all worth it
"Perhaps it's good for one to suffer. Can an artist do anything if he's happy? Would he ever want to do anything? What is art, after all, but a protest against the horrible inclemency of life?" -Aldous Huxley
Joe the Plumber
Quick note to Joe Wurzelbacher aka "Joe the Plumber" the election is over, time to sit down. Just because the Right used you as a caricature for the common man and paraded you around on the campaign trail does not mean your qualified to go into Israel and discuss politics. My issues concerning the war have never been with the soldiers that risk their lives for the sake of our safety. My problem is with our president who knowingly led innocent men and women into battle under false pretense. We were told lies to get us to believe this war was necessary and for that there is no excuse. I hope the incoming administration does some digging and investigates every act of torture and every death that occurred in Gitmo, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Oh, and Joe please go back to wherever you came from and stop trying to capitalize on your 5 minutes of fame.
F****N AMAZING: Hendrix, Morisson, Joplin
Why did I have to be born 20 years too late ugh and why are there no artists like this anymore?

Dear Youth

There is so much more to life than the material. It sickens me at the utter lack of interest in anything substantial and concrete like say books and education in today's youth. I'm not sure who to blame, the parents who indulge their children with the extravagant or the media. Maybe I should blame both. In videos it's the sensationalization of the diamonds, trips, clothes and it's the parents that give in. Who cares if you have diamonds around your neck or a porsche in the garage if you can't even communicate. There are so many kids out there that have nothing to contribute to society but their greed and willful ignorance. If we're supposed to be the future, I'm scared of what's to come. Nothing will change unless we(youth) stop being so complacent and money hungry. Trust me, there is nothing wrong with liking the finer things in life but there is something wrong when you can't talk about anything else but the superficial.

Peace at what price?
Introductions are in order

Every journey should be documented. Every thought typed and recorded. So this is the story of my evolution. This is me putting my words into the universe. Not expecting anything in return, this is solely for freedom. So if one person reads this, great. Maybe we can swap war stories and find solace in the fact that we're all connected and every once in a while we just need to let it out.
